As soon as you notice the first sign of mold it’s important to hit it with all you’ve got to get rid of this fast. There is likely more mold than meets the eye which is why we don’t believe there is ever just a little mold. Just as soon as you notice it you should act quickly to remove and prevent it’s return. Occasionally you will need the help of a professional such as in the case of black mold. If you have a slight mold issue the following tips will be helpful in ridding your home of it.
Maybe it will be a ring around your tub drain. Possibly you will notice dark circles up on the wall high above your stove or oven. Maybe it is a few dark spots that are noticeable in the paint that encircles your windows. The following are tips for removing mold that you can use to fight that irritating bacteria.
One of the first tasks that you should perform if you want to do away with mold is to scrutinize your home. You look at your entire house and not just the walls or ceilings. You have to look in all of the hidden areas of your home as well. Lift every knick knack, book and keepsake. Search all areas of your furniture. Slowly give the once over to all parts of your floors, walls and ceilings. Give special attention to the cracks and corners. Be careful when it comes to going around the edges of windows and electrical outlets. Examine the sections behind all appliances. All areas that show any signs of mold will require a major cleaning and demolding. Make sure that the mold has been completely removed before returning all furniture or decorations.
Try to keep your home as dry as possible. Moisture is a breeding ground for mold, don’t allow vents and windows to let your home become damp. Moisture is where the bacteria for mold breeds. Some of the places you might see moisture that can allow mold to grow are the bathtub, sinks, showers, stoves and yes even windows. Keeping vents dry and clean will prevent mold and make it more difficult for mold to grow.
Because mold and mildew thrive in damp dark places you can use sunlight to help dry them out and kill mold spores. The sunlight is bright and tends to dry things out making it less possible for mold to continue growing. If you notice mold on furniture, take it outside! Use a safe mold killer on the pieces (like vinegar or rubbing alcohol or even bleach if the thing can take it) and then let it sit out in the sun for a day or so (make sure to bring it in at night). The mold will be all gone!
Hopefully, you will be able to manage the mold in your home very fast.
I wrote this document about Mold Removal since it’s health related, and while considering a career in the pharmaceutical sector, I published a document about pharmacology you’ll find very interesting.
